Director of Financial Planning & Investment Management Services
Daniel joined Integrated Equity Management in 2017 and has worked in the financial services industry since 2012. He has worked in roles that have included equity research and analysis, top-down macro-driven asset allocation, as well as financial planning. In his position as Director of Financial Planning and Investments services, Daniel assists with the IEM Investment Models as well as the corresponding investment strategy and philosophy. He also manages the financial planning services team and provides thought leadership for the firm. Daniel has a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and in 2016 completed his MBA at the University of St. Thomas, with an emphasis in investments and finance. He is a CFA and CAIA Charterholder.
Manager of Insurance & Annuity Services
Melissa joined the IEM team as our Manager of Insurance in March 2017. She has over 5 years of experience in all areas of life, disability, and long-term care insurance. She works closely with the Financial Planning and Wealth Management Teams to thoroughly understand a client’s overall financial situation in order to tailor insurance solutions that align with their individual goals. In addition to completing comprehensive insurance reviews, Melissa is responsible for strategic planning, overseeing case management and policy servicing, and enjoys helping clients through the underwriting process to ensure it’s a smooth and positive experience for them. She is a graduate of Columbia College in Missouri where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She also holds her Minnesota State Insurance License for life, accident, and health. Melissa lives in Maple Grove, MN with her husband, Steve, and daughter, Adelyn. She enjoys playing tennis, volleyball, traveling (perk of being a pilot’s wife!), cooking food from all over the world, and spending time with family on Leech Lake.

Insurance & Financial Analyst
Working with people is what Ebenezer enjoys most about his role at IEM. Whether with clients or with other coworkers, he finds that interacting with others makes work much more enjoyable. In particular, he enjoys creating and maintaining personal relationships with individuals because it allows for a greater understanding of where people come from.
Experience and education
Ebenezer joined the financial services industry in 2016 after earning his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Minnesota with an emphasis in Organization, Business and Non-Profit.
Born and raised in the Twin Cities, Ebenezer currently resides in Cottage Grove, MN, where soccer continues to be a major part of his life since early childhood.
Financial Planning Assistant
As a Financial Planning Assistant, Muqing is responsible for working with advisors and clients to gather, input and analyze financial planning information. She began her career at IEM in August, 2017 as a college intern, initially focusing on data management, and she became a full-time associate on the Financial Planning team in 2018.
Originally from Zibo, China, Muqing received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a focus on Actuarial Science from the University of NC at Charlotte in 2016. While there, she received a Mathematics Department Honors Degree for a paper she researched and wrote on Optimal Investments. She received her Masters of Financial Mathematics from the University of Minnesota in May, 2018. In 2017 Muqing qualified for the Champion Round of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Trading Challenge by performing among the top 10% of participating teams.
Muqing enjoys her work helping clients achieve their goals through financial planning. She lives in Minneapolis, and likes to travel and draw in her free time.
Registered Executive Assistant
For more than 30 years, Suzanne has enjoyed supporting financial advisors through her work in managing Professional and Practice Development, product areas and client segments in the corporate offices of financial services firms. Now working with Ted Smith as his Executive Assistant, she is a point of contact for his clients, facilitating service requests, communication and applying her experience from her time in this industry to helping clients achieve their goals.
Suzanne is a registered representative of Commonwealth Financial Network, and holds a Master of International Business Studies from Saint Louis University, and a bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, advertising, and applied communication from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She lives in Edina with her husband and four children.
Registered Client Services Analyst
Carrie sets up new accounts, processes account service requests, and supports the Private Wealth Management and Financial Planning teams. She enjoys working in financial services, not only because it is valuable information for her own benefit, but because she likes seeing how it can give people confidence knowing they have a strategy in place.
Experience and education
Carrie started in the financial services industry in 2004 at Securian Financial Services’ home office. Over the years, she held a variety of operations and compliance roles before deciding to transition to part time work and join the IEM team. She currently holds her Series 7, 66, and 24 registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Carrie lives in Woodbury with her husband Jason and two boys. She likes to keep busy by reading, biking, playing sports with her family, and making strawberry ice cream from scratch.
Registered Client Services Analyst
Noah Merten joined IEM as a Registered Client Service Analyst in early 2018, and is one of the individuals who makes sure that trades, account updates and other important instructions are carried out on behalf of clients. Noah derives great satisfaction from being on a team that is dedicated to educating and helping others fulfill their financial goals. He has been in the financial services industry since 2016, working on behalf of both institutions and individuals.
Noah grew up in Carver, MN and has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and is a Registered Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, and holding the Series 7 and Series 66 registrations.
Naturally curious, Noah enjoys reading, painting canvases with acrylic, and brewing kombucha and beer to enjoy at his wedding this summer!
Client Services Analyst
Ellen joined Integrated Equity Management in 2017 as a Client Services Associate after starting in the industry in 2015. In her role, Ellen works with IEM’s Private Wealth Managers and Client Services Teams to exceed client service expectations. She is passionate about working with clients and assisting our operations and marketing teams.
A 2017 graduate of the College of St. Benedicts with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Business Leadership, Ellen is enjoying taking a leadership role on the CSB young alumni association, and keeps busy training for triathalons, visiting her cabin up north and trying new restaurants in the Twin Cities. Ellen lives in St. Paul, MN when she isn’t hopping a plane to a new destination.
Client Services Office Coordinator
Getting to know clients is what Gretchen enjoys most about working at IEM. With over 7 years of office administration and customer service experience, she finds importance in enhancing the client experience while keeping things running smoothly and seemlessly behind the scenes.
When she isn’t at the office, you can find her teaching high school band, training for her next marathon, fishing, and camping (she likes to be outdoors as much as possible!). Gretchen studied chemistry at the University of Iowa, and now lives in Minneapolis with her three roommates and her adorable cat Reggie.
